back when I had birds.. you needed to quarantine in different rooms if possible.. which i didn´t had.. so the best one could do is try the farthest spots between them.. and most importantly clean your hands very well when tending to the others cage.. doing the newbie at last is your best bet...
I have a castor rex.. which i bred to a chestnut dwarf/angora mix doe..
first time I got a chestnut and an orange one
second time i got 3 chestnuts, 2 oranges, 2 blues and a cream one
all background I know is mom had black siblings... and dad had a castor mom and castor and blue siblings...
they do have tanish in the back of their necks.. both of em.. just one is darker grey and brown eyes and the other one is lighter grey..
I really don´t understand the rufus thing yet.. dad seems to have a lot of em (or so i was told by you a while ago ;))..so maybe he passed it on to them...
I had a litter of 7 kits.. one died a few days after birth.. then in early october I lost two more.. which were around one month old.. the rest of them are thriving and just keep growing.. lol..
I cannot see myself parting with them.. but I need to.. at least two of them...
I was only keeping...
