I haven't done it but I think renting out my rabbits for anything that I'm not right there 24/7 with sounds like a bad idea (Also I wouldn't want to encourage people to get rabbits on impulse just because it's Easter)
I'm inclined to rent/loan rabbits for that reason, among others - people can get a "bunny fix" without buying one. Also, when you're showing off a "rent-a-bunny," it's your chance to educte the public on the pros and cons, joys and sorrows of rabbit ownership.
I have loaned/rented rabbits for photo shoots, kids' parties, and believe it or not, dog obedience training classes. In the first two situations my kids and I were usually involved in managing the rabbits, or the people running the function were knowledgeable about handling rabbits. In the latter case, the rabbit is in a sturdy kennel which is put out on the last day of the obedience class, for the dogs to be walked past (allowing the handlers to make sure that interesting smell/sounds would not cause the dag to misbehave). I do not see that there is any particular danger to the rabbit. We've worked with the same dog trainer for years without incident, other than happily finding good homes for a couple of rabbits who needed them!
I do think that our rabbits do well in these situations because they are extremely well-handled and used to lots of activity, thus are basically ""bomb-proof." We have kids and neighbor kids around all the time, and our rabbits travel regularly to shows, fairs and 4-H rabbit clinics. So our animals are tame, calm, and unfazed by these situations. They have also been great ambassadors for the rabbit world; as many rabbit owners know, there is a lot of benign ignorance about rabbits out there.
But, if you have rabbits that are not used to that much activity and new people, or which do not have such great temperaments, it would probably be better to avoid it.
I can't remember what I charged in those cases I did ask a fee, but mostly I did not formally charge a fee. Usually it was kind of a barter situation, or the "renter" gave me something out of gratitude, not contract. Sorry, that's not so helpful...
