I am new to CA's. Just wondering how the black color develops on the young rabbits & how long does it take for the black color to come in? Is it correct that they are born white then the Black markings come in as they get older?
 
Mine were born completely white, and started to show markings at two weeks. They're almost 3 weeks old now, and the colorings are gradually becoming more distinct.
 
Californians, Himalayans, or any other breeds that come in the colour, are all born white, and the colour starts to show up around 2-4 weeks. Although if they are chilled when they are born they will look grey.
