Even the Google maps are frightenly accurate. We've looked at our property on Google and could within a few days tell when the mapping was done.... due to what was where outside. Zoomed close in... we could see DH out working in the garden ! SCAREY !!!

I Google mapped my old address in Wyoming from four years ago and its still my car in the driveway lol!

That is really creepy...

They are using really old imagery, mine still has two old outbuildings that have been torn down and now the rabbit shed sits on that spot.

Some images will be more up to date-- in a neighboring county, the GIS maps one can actually see INTO the houses... the GIS maps of THIS county-- about 4 years old..just show straight overhead. The age of the Google maps, and some of the other sites, as well, depends a lot on when satellites are available for the purpose of taking pictures,,,

It will state in small print at the bottom of the image the year it was taken. Still, it does un-nerve me just a bit that the images can be so clear when zoomed in. The older ones tended to blur some when brought in too close.
Taking this line of thought way out there.... this latest image showed our garden in frightening detail... one could clearly see each row of veggies growing. I do wonder when the eye in the sky will be able to actually 'see' what plants are growing there to be used for gov't information gathering purposes...or big ag to make more rules against the home gardeners.

My husband actually saw the google car go by our place a few years ago it was pretty funny! I think the next time Google redoes the street views there are gonna be a lot of peeps wearing the tinfoil sombreros!!

Google just spent the last few weeks here where I live. We kept seeing the cars/vehicles everywhere.

Google cars? They have Google CARS?
