I've always wanted a cloak! Never thought of making one out of foil before... but hey, if Lady Gaga can wear the stuff she does, I don't see why not. I can hear the compliments now- "Dahling, you are absolutely dazzling! You blind me with your beauty!" <Sigh of utter content> We would fit right in with the other loonies! I mean, cool people!

We could also double as solar reflectors in a survival situation... why slave over a hot stove all day when you can be the stove?

The Google cars were all over here a couple of months ago. We kept seeing them everywhere.

The Google Maps satellite 45* shot is creepily recent, as is the straight overhead shot, but the 45* shot is much clearer than I would like... it's all but totally clear that there's a space where two fences do not come together.

Google Earth appears to be using the overhead shot you see on Google maps. Street View is not as recent, I'm thinking about a year old.

The last time I looked, which wasn't more than a month ago, the overhead picture was about a year old. It didn't show the garden, or the potted fruit trees. I liked it that way. It is still difficult to tell what the garden is, because of the trellis and netting structure we have on it. Probably wouldn't be too hard to figure out, though. I had heard that they take pictures about every three years, so I thought it would be a while yet.

The Whitepages Neighborhood thing does have old pictures, thankfully. One shot at one angle actually still has an old pecan tree that has been a stump for... ages -- I mean, like at least 15 years? I couldn't believe I was seeing it for a second. Still, this stuff really creeps me out. I don't like having everybody's info out there, right with the shots of the houses and all. I don't like it.

Sign me up for a tin foil sombrero.
