Rabbit-stealing by AR group in the news . . .

http://www.oregonlive.com/portland/i...m_portlan.html

Here is an ACTUAL comment made on the second link....

Cannibals have brains and hearts covered in the toxic by-products of using their colons as graveyards. They can’t think. They can’t love. They can only spew odorous toxic crap into the air. In other words, they’re full of shit. We can’t expect them to tell the truth about anything to anyone. They can’t even manage to be honest with themselves! Their days are numbered. Evolution is on the horizon!! Long live the critter folk! And those who will risk anything to love and protect them!!!

Uh...aren't cannibals the ones that eat their OWN SPECIES?!?!?!?!?

I've run in to this before. For some reason vegetarians have decided to rewrite the definition of cannibal to include eating all living things or maybe we are all just one species now but then they couldn't believe in evolution... If it made logical sense they wouldn't have to do extreme things repeatedly and brainwash all their followers by not letting them read any information contrary to their point of view. It's actually pretty easy to convince the lower level AR individuals that they are lacking some facts just by letting them interact with your animals. I know tons of horsemen have done that and actually stopped entire protests at competitions by throwing a few protesters on horseback. It's the fanatics brainwashing them with illogical arguments that keeps the cycle going.

I went back and re-read after the initial omg that's crazy shock....

I'm not surprised the news cast didn't get the 'facts' straight, or if that's true even (I couldn't find it when I looked for it for the 18 they were claiming point). The posts and bickering are crazy, just crazy. I can't believe they'd pull that just because there were rabbits left behind that they weren't from an AR group and that IF he truly did have them he didn't know a thing attitude. I would HOPE and THINK that if one was truly interested in the well being of the rabbits, they'd be shouting just as much as some of the ones they dislike so much since that the ones that did it get caught and charged as to the full extent of the law. Its no wonder there are more and more closed rabbitries and more and more people refusing to deal with people they aren't referred from a known source. I don't blame'm....

You can't reason with these nuts. They are unstable.

A ton of people give money to PETA and are completely ignorant of the fact they Fund the Animal Liberation movement.

So obviously they were trying to find someone to foster the kits. :( I feel bad for them.

Many of the comments were over the top, especially on the meat collective's site: http://www.pdxmeat.com/

It really makes you fear for the future of this country and our liberties and rights when so many people think like this. It's like a large percentage of the population has just taken complete leave of their senses... and they are making a lot of the laws...

I can't deal with these kind of people.

It is absurd that you would end your comment with “be and let be.” What logic is this? You control the reproduction system of other animals, you confine and separate other animals from their families and then you desecrate their bodies for personal gain and profit. How is that “be and let be”? In what parallel universe does that make sense?

Ignorant.

I am all for animal rights to a certain extent. Like when I cull an animal, I don't want them to suffer. I believe in humane treatment for ALL species. But get real. This is way past the point of sanity. Just because he thinks this way, doesn't mean he can criticize everyone elses beliefs and ways. There are more than one way to live your life.

I went and read some of the comments....oy vey...srsly? What makes me really upset is these same people, who get so bent out of shape to protect the innocent, precious animals....will march and protect in a rage if someone tries to pass a law to protect the innocent, unborn humans.

Here, here.

I always wonder what is the basis for their beliefs? Science says that we are on the top of the evolutionary food chain, survival of the fittest. Religion says the earth was created for us to enjoy and have dominion over. So there is no arena in which they can claim that what we do with animals is wrong. As long as we are not out right abusing them (or abusing the earth for that matter) we are entitled to use them as we see fit.
