because the dutch kits i got are eating pellets and nibbling hay. the adults are not eating the

hay as far as i have seen. i dont think they were given hay from the person i got them from.

the person said they are two weeks old, which means they were born about january 23. do they

start eating this early? i thought it would be another week or so before they started nibbling.

but they are eating pellets. they will all hop into the feed bowl or lean into it and eat. and

i wasnt sure if they were ust picking up and tasting but i watched for about 20 minutes and

they were definitely eating it. thanks!

Two weeks sounds about right. Congrats, your babies are right on track! Now they just need potty-trained, then they can start preschool in the fall!

My kits start nibbling whatever they can reach as soon as they are out of the nest box. I'd keep offering the hay to everyone. It's good for their digestive system. I bet they'll start eating eventually. Mine like to chew on twigs that I prune from my fruit trees too [just not cherry. i understand it can be toxic]

Every litter seems to be a little different. I have one litter that has been out of the box and gobbling everything in sight for two weeks while another litter from another doe hasn't even poked their noses out of the box yet and they are only a week younger.

About the same for me. Out of the nest box day 16, never looked back. At four weeks, the doe seems to be drying up. This weekend they will get their own cage.
