sometimes changes are good!
It seems there is much more activity at our former "primary" site from people who did not often post........ sometimes change is good

Re: sometimes changes are good!

It's nice to see activity everywhere. I've noticed more activity on my yahoo groups, too. Maybe it's a release of tension from the Holidays? On the Angora formum I'm on they're gearing up for a couple of shows, so it's mostly that.
I've stopped sharing the images and stories, as per requested, on the HT rabbits...moved some of them to PET forum

Re: sometimes changes are good!
From the beginning I have viewed RabbitTalk as an additional place to discuss rabbits, not as a replacement for other great sites like HT. I think most of us visit both sites and I'm pleased about that. The more the merrier!
Ann, I think it's a great idea for you to start some specific topics in the Angora section to get the ball rolling there.

I've been having trouble at the other site - having to login every time, then yesterday, it kept logging me out while I was still on the site! Tried to post, and was told "you are not logged in".
Sigh. Thank goodness for this site!

Re: sometimes changes are good!
A lot of people have been having problems logging in or staying logged in over there. I understand it is not just HT... all vbulletin boards are having a problem. They'll sort it out in time, I'm sure, but it sure is frustrating when it happens.

Re: sometimes changes are good!
don't they send a copy to your email? That's where I always get mine...then I have to remember to actually GO to HT and respond
and then I can always click on the person's name and then send a response (based on my email message).

Re: sometimes changes are good!
I'm new to this site and fairly new to rabbits. I have four English Angoras. Whew, lots of work! What is HT?
Ann, I just took a drop spindle lesson at my local yarn shop. I didn't really learn much that I didn't already know from a book I bought, but at least I know I'm not doing anything drastically wrong. Anyway, when I left, the owner of the store asked me to sell her some Angora yarn when I got to spinning it. At this point, I am terrible at shearing and not sure I even have any usable fiber. We'll see if I can ever spin anything worth selling. But, you might want to check local yarn shops and see if they'd be interested in buying yarn, if you spin, or maybe even fiber? You've probably already thought of that idea, but I thought I'd mention it just in case.

Re: sometimes changes are good!
Cindy....AHHH. Good idea. I had forgotten about the local shops because they're just so PRICEY!! but that means they'll pay for angora
WONDERFUL idea!! Thank you.
and it isn't really hard to make usable yarn from even poorly shorn wool
(trust me...I suck at shearing bunnies, so I pluck
) I'm sure your yarn will be great. Good to go with a spindle first with it so you get the hang of spinning the stuff more slowly. I'm trying on my wheel and it's....challenging for me so far.

Don't forget, you Angora folks, that substandard wool can be used to make the most wonderful felt. I'm thinking Angora felt slippers! How cozy is that?

I know this is old, but... *gasp* that thought is absolutely SINFUL, Maggie!!! Good heavens, that would be soft!
