Suggestion for new categories
I was thinking about two possibilities under "Rabbit Care & Feeding":
Product Reviews - Like a particular kind of cage, feeder, waterer, etc.? Dislike one? Share your experiences with others who are considering their options.
Rabbitry Setups - a place for everyone to tell about their various setups, hopefully with lots of pictures, explanations, and reasons why they like it or what they would change. A one-stop resource of ideas for those building or modifying rabbitries. Not the place for questions (except asking for clarification on someone's setup) or floating ideas... that would still be "Rabbit Care" under "Rabbit Care & Feeding".
Just some thoughts... I guess based on all the searches I did when I was trying to figure out what sorts of features would be incorporated into our rabbitry. Sometimes I knew the information was there, but I just couldn't seem to remember the right combination of key words to find it.
I love this site.

Product reviews....great idea. hmm. I wonder if we could combine that with a "where to buy" stuff. Klubertanz, etc. Maybe make that one a sticky in the subforum?
Setups..."this is what I've done, this is how I built <whatever>" perhaps? That sort of thing in it?

Re: Suggestion for new categories
That's a good way of putting it, Ann. I was thinking of the product reviews actually being a subforum rather than a sticky thread, so you can see a list of products, each with its own thread, rather than looking through a single multi-page thread with all the products in it.
I thought the setups would be good as a subforum so that each person's setup would have a separate thread with details and pictures, and questions and answers pertaining to that setup only.
Not that it must be done MY way, LOL, just explaining myself a little further.

Re: Suggestion for new categories
Nog. I was thinking a subforum "products and reviews" sort of thing, with a sticky in it of Places to Buy Rabbit Equipment. And then each of us who had a favorite place(s) could post a link. The sticky could start off with talking about local farm stores, Craigslook, kiiji, etc. Since those are often the nearest/best resource for many people...sometimes you just forget that places like Walmart have guinea pig stuff and small animal (GREAT place to get a small dog auto waterer which works really well for bunnies...they also have the pint and quart sized bottle waterers....AND small dog kennels, crates and carry cases which work wonderfully for bunnies)
And then the reviews of a product (like the EZ-tatt, for instance) as a thread in the forum.
It could also have book reviews in it. "Storey's raising rabbits! Great for learning!" or "Raising Rabbits for Profit by Herman Goerring SUCKS!!" well...maybe not that blatant, but...

MidnightCoder wrote:If you guys get a bit ambitious, I could easily set up a collaborative blog, something like rabbittalk.com/reviews, where you could all submit reviews and rate them as well as comment on them. There's a nifty lil 5 star based rating system for WordPress I could use.
Just ideas.
I don't know why it took me so long -- what you said was pretty simple, but it took me a while to finally process and get what you were talking about.

I have no preference either way, as to whether it is set up as a subforum or a collaborative blog.
However y'all like it!

Re: Suggestion for new categories- Tips & Tricks?
I think it would be great to have a place to list tips & tricks....like my "way cool poop pusher"
Maybe I am a little lazy cuz I like to come up with the best possible methods for little problems (like how to push the poop off those silly corrugated poop boards!) & I'd love to see what clever ways others handle the day to day "issues" in caring for the Buns.
