Hi all.
I am planning to attend the show.

I'm wondering if there will be other REX or Harlequin breeders there. :D

Komoka Community Center

Starts 9:00am
Pre-registration encouraged.

Well... I did my first show!

We were a VERY small category with only 3 Magpie Harlequin and 2 Japanese Harlequin.

I did get great feedback from the judges and the other breeder!

My Juniors (buck and doe) had great type.
They were a bit "smutty", so I need to work on crisper black and white (lav/white, choc/white, blue/white) definition.
The judges liked my Jr. Buck better than the Japanese Jr. Buck only because his type was better.

So I am going to be working to keep my type good (Commercial) and crisping up my colour divisions.... Hunting for a buck that is 50% or more black (my girls are lightly marked) with good crisp lines.
I was told the patterning would come if I focus on those two items first.

It sounds like it was a very useful experience, Tricia, and that you learned things that will help you define the direction you want to move in.

It sure did Maggie!
It is good to have some ideas I had confirmed and a solid GOAL in mind.
I think my meaties might be going within a year or so. That way I can focus my limited cage space on my Harlequins... :)

That wasn't us.
We had a broken chocolate sr. buck, a broken chocolate jr doe, and my friend's Tort sr. doe.
All mini rex.

And my daughter brought her black dutch for the youth pet show.
