I was up before the sun this morning so as it started to get light I climbed into my old Jeep to check fences.
Just a few miles from the house, perched on some boulders was a huge mountain lion!
At first I thought it was merely shadows & light as it seemed too big to be a cat. I stopped the Jeep to get a better look and it got up & walked off! It was real! (The cat, not the Jeep

This was the first time I've ever seen one and I'm still astonished over how big it was!
I've seen tracks on many occasions & knew they were out here, but actually seeing one was quite the event!
I've been told that even if we can't see them we can bet they have seen us. They are very good at avoiding humans.
It looked well fed too. I hope it doesn't see our livestock as lunch.
