Ann recently took Hobbes, a lovely English Angora that I'd had for 2 months - long enough to realize I was having no more success than his previous owner at keeping him groomed. Turns out he was in worse shape than either of us knew - 4 inches + of matted hair, and chafing that was hidden by the hair.

She's been clipping away - and tells me he's now about half the size he was. I'm so glad he's gone to the right person! Thanks, Ann, for giving him the best of care!!!

Heh. You're more than welcome. :) He's a very sweet bunny, and it turns out, much to my surprise, he's SPOTTED! White with large areas of grey. I'm not quite done with him. chest is proving to be a bit of a problem, but we're getting there :) I'll post some pictures of him when he's done. Maybe tomorrow.

I'm looking forward to seeing the photos. I took time to clip mats off my fuzzballs tonight. Xena, Warrior Princess had very little matting , but Conana - sheesh, took a good 15 minutes! I've learned from Hobbes - groom OFTEN!

Posted one photo in the gallery, under woolies.http://rabbittalk.com/gallery/image_page.php?album_id=4&image_id=182 He's checking out the water bottle, which he recognized right off how to use. He's got a lovely grey saddle across his back, a couple of black spots on his hips. The white wool is very lovely soft fine stuff, with no guard hairs, it seems..the grey and black spots have some guard hairs.

He's a very sweet bunny to put up with so much man-handling from me. er...buck-handling? With all that super fine wool, tho, he's going to need grooming very often which can be quite daunting, imo.

Do you have a blower? He may benefit from using that every few days as well. He looks like a solid black by his head as there is no white on it. His body has pink skin? Maybe he is a booted , especially if his legs are white!

He'd definately spotted. Don't know what the angora people would call it technically, but he has mainly pink skin, gray skin, and that black looking face and ear edges. His tail is grey, his feet are strange. dark on the bottom, white on the top.

What I did mostly was let him groom himself and run around to fluff out after I trimmed off a bunch. Worked quite well. Of course, I can't grab him easily any more :( It used to be like grabbing a sofa pillow by the sides. Now it's a VERY active bunny....no pillow sides anymore.
