Taxidermy?
I just stumbled upon this on the internet and it made me wonder if anyone on this site does taxidermy? http://www.afieldguide.org/kits.html
I've been seeing a lot of really beautiful, yet disturbing taxidermy sculptures lately using farm animals. I found these on a gallery site- http://www.jaski.nl/kunstenaar/les-deux-garcons-2/?v=32 There's a small rabbit taxidermy sculpture there that costs $3500 euros, this larger piece I'm sure is $15,000+ euros

Re: Taxidermy?
I don't do taxidermy myself, but I'll do specialty tanning for it on occasion. Especially for soft sculpture, since it's tricky to tan rabbits for that.
Celice has mounted a couple of my pelts.
It's a lot more popular than one might think.

Yep! I'm a self-taught taxidermist! I've mounted rabbits-raccoon-foxes-and coyotes! Rouge taxidermy is always cool to look at and I've done it a few times!
you can check out my work here: http://tricksters-taxidermy.deviantart.com/

LOL, I wish I could have mounted it! she was so pretty! I did get an okay price for her; if not for money pressing me down I would have rugged her! maybe when winter comes back I'll find another deer to mount.

I thought perhaps someone who wanted a headdress might have offered the best price, since it's uncommon to see LS cut that way these days.
I'm glad you were able to do alright with it.

I'm not really sure what the headdresses are used for (costume / cosplay?) ... But I saw enough of them to be aware of the market.

I'm not so sure ether. I guess for comic con or native american dancing, but that's all I can think off...

Re: Taxidermy?
Maybe people wear them to drumming circles? I've never been to one, but they are popular out this way.

Re: Taxidermy?
that would make since. I haven't seen anything other than rugs and LS over here (and soft mounts by me) but that's it...
