So my evil crazy landlady has decided she's going to evict me from my rental that I've never been late on paying rent for, for 8 years. I know why she's doing it, she know the market for the area has gone up and she can get 2-300$ more with new renters.
So AARRRRRRRR! Now I need to find a place and move my stuff because I rather do that then stay and continue paying for her morgage, it makes me realize how much stuff you can gather when you stay in one place long enough.
Hardest thing will be finding a place that wont mind me bringing my bunnies with me, at least I've already been downsizing.

So yeah sucks being a renter.
At least I can keep warm by snuggling cute fuzzy bunnies

I'm so sorry that this is happening. Isn't there a process that has to happen to prove just cause? I don't think she can just toss you out if you have a lease?

I have just cause and I'm going forward with my case just because it means I don't have to pay this months rent and if I win she will have to pay for my 1st months rent and cost of moving.
But the whole thing is annoying, my husband has been unable to work due to an injury so its just the worst time to have to pick up and find a new place.

__________Mon Jan 30, 2012 10:10 pm __________

I think she did it because my husband opened his big mouth about us moving in the summer to a house out of the city, so she knows if she can get us to leave now she can have the place ready for early spring. We live right by the sea and people are always looking to rent places for the summer, then she can charge summer rates. its all about money, can't blame her but have a heart and let us give notice or at least talk to us, before just coldly handing me papers and saying I'm eviting you.
We will find out by the 15th if we have the house but I need to make plans for a move by march because as I said I'm done with the woman, I just hope she dosn't do anything to the bunnies in the time being.

OMG thats awful BB , Sounds like you have a case there, hope you win it and find a nice place! In Ontario one can not be evicted on a whim like that, there must be cause like non payment or illegal activities or along that line! BUT once the tenant leaves the landlord can charge any rent they want with no rent control!! So i guess a lot of landlords are trying to find anything to get rid of tenants just to be able to raise their rents more than allowed.. I hope she can not just come onto your property without due notice?

Wow, I know a lot of property owners and managers and, at least in the US, eviction is a MONTHS long process. And generally costly. Definitely a last resort. I can't imagine!

I feel so blessed to be a home owner right now.

Sorry about your situation, I hope your husband gets back on his feet soon.
