Now, what hapenned-- my 'new' and 'no new posts' threads are showing up differently tryingto help my failing eyes, Mr Coder?

If you mean the small icon in each post that links to the post, and indicates if you have read it or not, that is back where it belongs. The new permalink button is now beside the Thank Post button.

If you mean visited links being grey instead of blue on the viewforum pages, that was changes awhile ago, to better indicate which have been read. If the grey text is unreadable to you, I can try something else.

If you didn't mean either of those, could you please explain what you're having trouble with?

Wow, that's a lot of "ifs"

the grey text-- I have not seen it prior to today-- before that, the unread were emboldened I can read them, and the difference in shades is beneficial to me when my brain is misfiring...

I noticed this too, MC. When you FIRST read a thread, the title turns to grey and the check mark disappears. When there are subsequent new replies to that thread that you have not read yet, the check reappears but the title stays grey...is that what you mean, Terry?

I've noticed that the check mark disappears when I make my first post, and then the little boxes have a dot in the upper right corner. When someone else posts, the check mark reappears and remains until I post again.

I think this is how it goes:
The grey type means you have visited that topic before.
The check mark means that there are posts in the thread that you have not viewed.
The little reddish dot means you have posted on that thread at some point.

My little dot is blue.

I think you are right about the check mark. It doesn't always disappear right away though. I had to go to the post on Stall-dri twice and view Devon's post before it went away. I usually am on the "view new posts" page, maybe that makes a difference?

Not that it really matters- when I log on to RT, I just look for my last post as a reference to see new activity. In the upper left corner below the menu bar, where it tracks your last visit, mine is stuck: Last visit was: Thu Dec 01, 2011 7:39 am, so that is no help to me. I never log off RT though- when I pull up the page I am always logged on... I will log off now and see if there is any change.

Hah! The time of my last visit is now updated, and instead of pages and pages of new posts, there is only feralty's last one about her breeding experiment. I guess I'll have to use the active topics page now.
