    Our REW

With our first litter we traded a black buck for a REW doe. Leah loved the color. I did not like her head (it was narrow for me and longer ears), but she is growing into it. At 12 weeks old, she got best opposite breed at a huge show (there were 31 solid senior bucks and at least 15 in each...

She has mastitis, I take the kits away right?

I dont know about rabbits, but I am a lactation consultant, and the worst thing you do is stop nursing. The infection is in the tissue around the ducts and the treatment in humans is to nurse more often and usually need antibiotic.

    My new HL buck

I love my buck I got from Mandy! Then I was at a Texas show and saw a doe that looked just like him and bought her. She was also out of Hartman's line. Next show she got Best of Variety and He got best opposite! She always places in the top 3! Now she is pg by my Hartman's buck!

    Here's a show preparation question..

I started loading in the morning, but the last show we loaded the night before. IT was cool enough outside and they were fine. The next two shows are closer so we will load in the mroning!

He is 3 weeks now, but was jsut over 2 weeks in the picture. I am really loving this guy. He is a broken sable point. (I just sold one a few weeks ago and then this turned out to be a buck as well) The whole litter has had big heads from the beginning! i think he is a watcher for sure. what do...

Do I leave my buck in or take him out?

I had my buck in my colony and they all did great. He did not rebreed the does until 4 weeks. They had kits 8 weeks apart, BUT I could not stand not knowing when they would kindle, so I pulled him out.

    Peeing in the nest

I am pretty sure if she is pg, it is just a couple of weeks. She had 4 kits, and they were on both sides. The planis to wait until 34 days after lops left. (It has been almost 3 weeks) and we will then do different breedings. So far this is working ok. They seem to be fine now.

    Peeing in the nest

Ok, I am curious. I think one of my other does might be peeing on some 10 day old kits. There is pee on their backs and we saw her in the nest box once. The nest box was completely wet, we had to change it out (which we were gonna anyway before their eys open). We also have 5 week old kits in...

    Popples! I get it now!

LOL, you should see him now. He is getting so cute and has a HUGE personality. I am keeping him for a bit, at least til 4 months and gonna take hime to a couple of shows and see what they think. Then he may go. (Got another broken sable point in the nest too! :D ) These are 4 weeks, he is 5...

    Popples! I get it now!

Ok, I get why you call them popples. I thought it was because they move around under the fur. BUT this litter is a bunch of wild ones!! I went to move the fur to see if the peanuts were still alive and I swear the little buggars popped up at me like the creaturs in aliens. I almost screamed! I...

Chicken police bust rabbits (funny clip)

That is great! My chickens keep my rabbits in line. We let our buck out sometimes and when he isnt runny to the doe colony he likes to go to the chicken coop. They are just not sure about him and though they dont peck him they sure charge at him like that!

What color do you think these 4 day old hl kits are

So we have 5 kits. Two are peanuts :( . I was really hoping that Sundae was a false dwarf (she is a big girl) and we would not have issues with peanuts. Anyway. I am pretty sure the light one is a broken sable point. Then I think we have another sable point (the peanuts) and black torts (the...

What do you guys think of this little guy? Holland Lop Jr.

He's cute, but he looks like a broken black tort to me (I am far from an expert though)

My 4 week old Holland babies. I think we have some potential

So far everyone is liking the sable point. WE may keep him, but I am not sure who I will breed him to cause he is broken and I have two broken does, the black one is probably going bye bye and the other is a REW. Funny thing is I was talking to the breeder of my doe and showing her the kits and...

Not sure what to think about this youngster...sick?

So if he is acting fine and stool is normal, but he is just eating less, being inside could account for that couldnt it?
