    Ear mites [solved, thank you!]

Thank you everyone, I really appreciate it. Here was the link to the kit's eyes: https://m.imgur.com/a/V1PHu (there is a bit more information in my last post). I'll get more images of stuff in an hour or so, after dealing with the strong smells of dog poo, viniger, and alchol I'm a bit too...

    Ear mites [solved, thank you!]

Okay, I'll seperate her from her kits, clean everything, and put everyone in quarintine, thank you! So, should I try and remove the dead skin/crusty stuff? Its gets pretty deep in her ear and I don't want to bother her with it if I don't have to. I'll put a dab of olive oil on her ear for now...

    Ear mites [solved, thank you!]

I'm trying to post this quickly and refine it later just to get it up. First off I love my rabbits so I don't know how I could be so stupid and not notice this earlier. I feel absoutly terrible about this so please please know I am not purpousally being a "bad" owner. Okay, so Oracle is a...

    Skinning process when saving pelts?

I assume this is directed at me? I haven't cut below the "ankle"/"wrist" joints before, usually I just pull on the bone one way and the fur the other (after cutting the tendons and just "trim" along the way). For pelts I don't keep the feet on I just cut at those points instead.

    Guess the color

Excuse the dummy, but wouldn't that show itself like this: Different litter/mother, same father.

    Skinning process when saving pelts?

Thank you for the tips Zass! I indeed just want him as a wall-hanger so I don't need everything to turn out perfect but I just want to do my best. And I have already ordered some disposable scalpels to do the job! Maybe I'll leave the feet and head attached to the skin so I can throw him in the...

    Skinning process when saving pelts?

I don't think I'd rip him to shreds? *Is confused* I've culled many a rabbit + skinned them, as well as roadkill and deer successfully, just never anything with the paws/head on. I've salted hides and sent them to tanneries in the past without issue but I wanted to try tanning him myself. I was...

    Guess the color

    Guess the color

These buns will be sent off to freezer camp eventually, so the answer doesn't exactly matter, but I was wondering if this was a distinct enough color that someone could label it for me? Father is creme d'argent, mother is a broken meat mutt (I think half rex). I think the toes are...

    Skinning process when saving pelts?

Does anyone have a video showing how they skin for taxidermy, expecially in regards to the feet? I have found a video showing how to skin the head but wouldn't mind seeing more if anyone has a link. (My main buck had a seizure recently and he's having difficulties so its time he moves on but I...

    Common causes of kit loss?

@ladysown Wow, I need to see how #5 works for me, sounds like it could save me some trouble! My own experences have led me to put the nestbox in five days before the due date and I make a nest with cardboard nesting supplies on the bottom and hay on top. This has made a diffrence in how many...
