Hi, paws are not matted. That's good, right? I picked off the crusty stuff and it hasn't come back. Maybe just schmutz? :)

    Bunny health care

Thanks for the replies but oh my! I hope it's not boogies. It is dark green and I wonder if it is from his pellets. It is less today that the other day- maybe he cleaned it off? His behavior seems ok; he seems active and Is Eating and drinking. We only have one bunny so I'm not worried about...

    Bunny health care

Hi I'm new to bunny pets. My bun is about 11 weeks. He is awesome. Do bunnies need shots like puppies do? I'm noticing a little crust on bunny's fur around his nose / nostrils. I can't tell if it's boogies or from his food or something from when he was sniffing around. Should I be...

Do rabbits need bedding (ie - carefresh, wood chips, etc)?

What about flannel? We have a ton of old receiving blankets from the kids when they were babies. In wondering if they'd be safe for bunny

holland lop babies and their ears

Thanks to all who gave advice here and invited me to the show in CO (that I couldn't go to ). We got a bunny; a holland lop. We didn't get the brown one because there was the eye issue that didn't clear up. The bunny is 8 weeks; we took him home yesterday. It's a boy! Thanks again everyone!

holland lop babies and their ears

Thanks - that's good to keep in mind that it might be "nest eye." The breeder said she is treating it ... With a saltwater solution (I think that's what she said). I hope that's ok. The breeder told us that babies don't always make it; my daughter would be sad to hear if anything dies, of...

holland lop babies and their ears

Thanks. Farmington is pretty far; but I sent a message. The other links not really working. Spoke to someone who has Netherlands dwarfs but they are a 5 hour drive, one way, and said holland lops are hard to find in nm. :( If this baby doesn't work out, Maybe will wait for the next litter...

holland lop babies and their ears

Thanks - will proceed with caution here. Maybe wait the extra 2 weeks. Or look for another holland lop breeder. They are hard to find here in northern New Mexico.

holland lop babies and their ears

We have to wait another 4 weeks to take it home - it will be just over 6 weeks. Weened plus a few days. Breeder said she would save the one my daughter picked but wouldn't take anything until that pick up - she said in case bunny doesn't make it ... And that we would keep an eye on the eye...

    Air travel with bunny

Good input - thank you. Pet store guy suggested taking with (we travel frequently- 10+ day trips). This is good feedback to think about. Maybe have to find someone at home to help.

    Newbie cage question

We are getting a baby bunny in another 4 weeks. It is a holland lop. I bought this cage with dimensions: Dimensions: 19"L x 41"W x 24"H. It looks like this: http://m.petsmart.com/h5/hub?id=%2FWFS% ... DA7E3F1BD4 Any opinions? I don't have the kind of house that will allow me to set up a...

holland lop babies and their ears

Thanks - it was probably more crusty, although one eye had a little white-ish clump on the eye. Thinking more after reading your post, I'm not sure if what I saw on the eye was crust or goop. But I will definitely ask more questions and look more closely. Any specific I should ask? Thanks so...

What is the best litter box for house-rabbits ?

Hi, I'm confused about litter training. Would there be a litter box in the house cage and another one for outside the cage when they are hoping around? Also is pine shavings used in the litter box or do we stay away from pine shavings because it's unhealthy? One person told me you can just...
