Mum rabbit needing vet?

Personally, I'm not sure that broccoli and kale are the best greens to be feeding any rabbit in large quantities and on a regular basis. They are not considered the 'safe' greens, as far as I know. They tend to cause gas and stomach problems. If she is pooping normally, you have little to worry...

Fighting Stasis? Help? Update: Bizarre stone?!?

River is doing much better, thanks! She's acting normal and although the quantity and quality of her stools is still not what I would like it to be (small, dark) it's obvious that her bowels are moving along regularly again. I'm still pushing some greens and such, but she's enjoying them much...

Fighting Stasis? Help? Update: Bizarre stone?!?

I'm sleeping soon. Of course now I'm worried that she has internal injuries from passing this monstrous thing. She looked happy enough when I left, but of course the thought is lingering. Ugh. :( Hoping for a happy, hungry bun when I see her tomorrow.

-- Tue May 16, 2017 8:33 am --...

You are going to want to see this....

Seriously. Go check my most recent update in the 'fighting stasis' thread. (spoiler: no... she didn't have a litter)

Fighting Stasis? Help? Update: Bizarre stone?!?

Right. I didn't want have to try the enema route, but may give it a shot tonight. Also going to see if I can find that pumpkin! -- Mon May 15, 2017 9:21 pm -- So.... update. I just came in a little while ago to check on River after going to the grocery store. I did find pure pumpkin (in...

Fighting Stasis? Help? Update: Bizarre stone?!?

River is basically no longer accepting food or passing any poops. I'm not going to panic because I've read about buns doing this for several days and then recovering. Still very worried about her. I'm going to keep trying to make sure she gets fluids. She is still fairly active, but I wouldn't...

Fighting Stasis? Help? Update: Bizarre stone?!?

I didn't even think of that! I'll try to check back and see. I looked in the canned veg section. -- Mon May 15, 2017 9:17 am -- Banana? I thought banana was 'binding' (but maybe that's just for humans?) River is the only one of my rabbits who has ever been willing to eat banana, and that...

Fighting Stasis? Help? Update: Bizarre stone?!?

Thank you. That makes me feel better, maybe I don't have to be in total danger mode. I figure as long as she's eating and passing SOME stools, she's not critical? I did just feed her a fair amount of dandelion leaves. She's not super active, but she's alert and the straining thing seems to have...

Fighting Stasis? Help? Update: Bizarre stone?!?

I didn't hear any gugling. Her belly seems larger than normal (although that's kind of hard to gauge as she gotten sort of fat - no, she is definitely not pregnant) but her belly is soft. -- Sun May 14, 2017 12:30 pm -- Thank you. I looked for pumpkin last night, sadly it is not available...

Fighting Stasis? Help? Update: Bizarre stone?!?

I realize I haven't been here in a long time, but I'm trying to make sure I'm doing all I can for my dutch doe (River). It appears that she's fighting stasis. After changing her litterbox a couple of days ago (Friday), I realized yesterday that she was producing only a few small poops. I've...

So, i guess we have a dog.

It was a difficult decision for me because I don't want to put strain on the relationship, but if he weren't an otherwise great guy, this would probably be a deal-breaker for me. Unfortunately, it doesn't help that she's shedding a lot. :p

So, i guess we have a dog.

We had something like that when I worked at a grooming place in Indiana. I don't know why they would have issues at a place like PetSmart, I'm sure they have a similar tool. Oh well.

Got them trimmed today! :) She had an appointment at the groomer and did very well, except she kept trying to bite the blow dryer. :p

So, i guess we have a dog.

Yeah, although I know that having her here wouldn't help if someone came in with the intention of just shooting us all, I do think that having a dog 'warning' a person will make the average hoodlum think twice about causing trouble.

So, i guess we have a dog.

Thanks :) I'm not very familiar with Brittany Spaniels, I know they're working bird dogs and that she looks vaguely like the breed... both in body type, coat and color. I know nothing about their temperaments. It was suggested to me that she might have 'pit bull' in her, which would be very...

So, i guess we have a dog.

She does kind of have the head shape of a Cavalier, but she's much bigger and thinner, also doesn't have the long ears. It would be pretty cool if she does have Border Collie in her though, because I love BCs, but I haven't seen any evidence of herding instinct. Time will tell I guess. This is...

So, i guess we have a dog.

Yeah, she doesn't seem hyper at all. Well, she seems like she WANTS to be hyper, but just very self controlled. The face structure puzzles me. I always think it's fun to try and figure out a dog's background, but you truly just never know. I saw a pitbull who had been accidentally bred with a...

So, i guess we have a dog.

I have confirmed that she is very smart. *VERY* smart. She doesn't appear to have had any formal training, but she's quickly figured out that I'm the 'alpha' and watches me, carefully, for clues as to what I want her to do. She knows 'sit' and she will 'lie down' (from a sit). She walks politely...

So, i guess we have a dog.

Not rabbit related of course, but I wanted to share with you folks. I made the decision, yesterday, to adopt a dog. She was listed on Facebook and I sort of fell in love with her picture. I found out that she's a year old (turns out she's closer to two), housebroken, loves kids and other dogs...

    Just Have To Brag

I can get Orchard Grass hay locally for $6/bale... but I don't fully trust it. I generally get Timothy Grass compressed bales at Tractor Supply... for close to $20 :/ Still considerably cheaper than trying to get those little bags from pet stores, but sheesh. Ridiculous.
