Finished mittens, what would you sell em for?

I'm so sorry you're going through all that. Those mittens are lovely though. I'm really not sure what you should ask for them, all I can contribute is that a friend of mine sold a pair of fingerless satin angora gloves for $80 here in the southwest.

    Lilac?

Kinda looks like a blue steel to me. If you had her when she was born, was she blue at birth or lighter than blue, almost tannish?

    Evans Software Help?

I used Evans a while back when I was still using a PC. I love the program. The best way I found to keep track of that stuff is to add a custom field, you can go to the settings and add that. I put the genotype in, but you can put anything you want there and it will show up on the base...

    New Angora! Lilac Tort?

Yes, very possibly a chocolate tort, but remember the intensity of color can vary greatly, definitely not as dark as the broken. Look closely at the lacing around the edges of the ear, that is the best way I know to tell if it looks more chocolate or black/gray. From the pic it does look more...

    New Angora! Lilac Tort?

Definitely vm, but it's either black tort or chocolate tort. Difficult for me to tell from the pic, might be my screen, not lilac or blue though.

    Seal or something else?

Could be silver tipped steel or the silvering gene. What color were the parents?

    Chocolate tort - "Update"

Thanks, I really like her, just hadn't seen one that dark before!

    Chocolate tort - "Update"

Here she is, both parents are Cc absolutely sure (many litters). But she was born looking the same color as her self chocolate sister. I've never had a tort start out anything but pink... but I've had some people say it's possible.

    Chocolate tort - "Update"

Has anyone ever had a dark chocolate tort born with brown skin instead of pink? It's definitely not shaded (positive by test breedings) or should I suspect steel? (no steel in pedigree). Have found out since, due to a second litter with the same thing, that it is actually a steel with...

    Herd Decisions

The wire dog crates work really well as cages (especially temporary) if you add the bottom cage wire as Maggie suggested!

    Mini Satins

Congrats! If you breed for temperament along with type they're not too bad. I ended up after a couple years not having any mean rabbits, I just won't put up with that. On the whole, just not the friendliest of breeds. I had one herd buck that was very sweet and friendly. Beautiful though...

    Plant ID?

It's definitely pony foot, thanks alforddm. I never would have found that on my own. It was never mentioned anywhere I looked. Once I googled pony foot it came right up and that's what it is! And it's edible, what a plus!!!

    Mini Satins

I raised them for quite awhile, small size, beautiful fur, but they don't call them mini satans for nothing!

    Plant ID?

Thank you so much, this gives me some good references! I appreciate it.

    Plant ID?

Hi, I have tried identifying these plants because our yard is covered with them and I would love to be able to feed them to the buns. Nothing I have found seems to be exactly right. The one kinda looks like wild violet, but I've never seen any flowers on it. The other one kinda looks like...

    Steel

Thank you, steel is finally starting to make sense to me!

__________ Fri Jun 30, 2017 5:48 am __________

So if I have an agouti that has all the proper agouti markings, mom definitely had steel, Ese, would he be able to carry that steel gene but not express it? Would...

    Steel

Question about steel, can a non-extension rabbit carry steel, such as red, tort or pearl? Would it be ese or ees? I think that agout can't hide it, correct? Cause it would show as steel. Only self can hide steel or can anything hide it?

    Need weight gain

Try feeling his spine, if the bones there aren't sharp, then he is probably the right weight for him. Ideal weight for the breed and actual weight of any individual can vary greatly. Angora's of any type seem to have those hip bones that you can always feel, even at a good weight. They do...
