Pellet Brands

I agree. I also use Purina Professional, and all of my rabbits have fabulous coats, and do great on it.

    Tattooing

Per ARBA rules: ENTRIES / EXHIBITS, SECTION 26 All animals must be permanently and legibly earmarked in the left ear. (A) Rabbits not legibly earmarked must be disqualified from the class. Legibility of the earmark is at the discretion of the judge. This ruling also applies to rabbit...

    Breeding age does, Cheap cages?

If you watch PetSmart.com, once in a while they have Wabbitat cages by Midwest for sale for $15.99. I have ND's so I divide the cages and get 2 holes out of each cage! $8 isn't bad per hole!

    Hubby saved his first buny

Reminds me of when my hubby decided to TRY to pose our ND's and was taking pictures! He knows NOTHING about rabbits! LOL It was cute, and worth the laugh! I'd say your hubby is a great support system! :)

Additive to keep water from freezing so fast

I also have 2 sets of crocks for my buns. I keep the extras in a plastic crate in the house, and I take it out with me each time I feed. I collect the frozen crocks in the crate and bring them in and set them in the sink. Within an hour they're good to go. :)

    Midwest Rabbit Cages

Thank you SOOOOO much for posting this! These cages are actually what I use in my rabbitry! I LOVE them! The ONLY thing I would change is the pan, but I can't because of the bars in the way. I breed Netherland Dwarfs, so I put a divider in the middle and get 2 holes out of one of these bad...

    rabbit tattoo kit

My tattoo kit is called EZ Tat. if you google EZ tat, it'll pop up for you. This is the hand held battery operated unit. I prefer it over the clamping method. Matter of opinion, I guess. If I had one thing to change about it,would want a bi I t of a wider needle, as the lines are fine, and I...

    Hay storage

Goodness! Why on earth would this get nasty? Everyone has different opinions on a lot of areas of breeding, raising, and showing rabbits. If everyone did the same thing, it would be boring, and there wouldn't be much competition. As far as the mold in the hay, my vet also recommended that I...

    Materials used in drop trays......

After reading everything you all had to say, i think i might try the litter in the trays. I've talked to a few more vets since then and they all agree that as long as they don't physically come into contact with the litter. I'll keep you all posted as to how it goes! Thanks everyone!

    Hay storage

TONS of breeders buy and use bulk hay successfully. I just happen to know a breeder that lost half of her herd because of this. She says hindsight is 20 /20. Had she known that by spending the little bit of extra money would have protected almost $3,000 worth of show rabbits, she would have done...

    Materials used in drop trays......

LOVE this idea! Not only would it reduce the ammonia, but it also helps get your rabbits "in the mood" for breeding! Thank you so much!

__________ Mon Nov 22, 2010 8:07 am __________

Ok, here we go lol... Not enough room under my cages to place blocs for drainage. The...

    Hay storage

That's the problem with moldy hay.... sometimes you CAN'T see it. Just the itty bittiest amounts can be fatal. I don't know how many holes you have or how much hay you feed your rabbits, but what works for me is the bagged hay. One big bag costs me around $6 and lasts me about 4 months, with 12...

    Hay storage

Be VERY careful of the tiniest particles of mold with whole bales of hay like that. It will kill a bunny faster than anything!
