    White Spots on Liver

Thanks guys! Wow, those livers we're pretty bad. I think mine only had about 10 little spots each, but that's definitely similar, just more advanced. Hepatic coccidia...thank you for confirming my suspicions! Good to have a true answer for that. I have both corid and sulmet for coccidia, but...

What types of animals do you have other than buns?

They're mostly East Friesian/Lacaune (both dairy breeds) crosses, though we have some that are up to 50% Karakul. Yup, it's a commercial dairy and creamery. We don't sell the milk, but make it into a hard aged cheese and sell that. Dairy sheep are seasonal milkers and lactate for 6 months before...

    White Spots on Liver

Last year I had a LOT of meat rabbit fryers who had a lot of very small (1/16" diameter) white spots spread throughout the liver. I was wondering if anyone knows what they might have been? Rabbits were about 10-12 weeks at the time. All other organs were normal and healthy. I didn't have any...

    Belgian Hares

I just got my first pair of Hares. Won a buck in the youth scholarship raffle at convention this month and then bought a little doe to go with him a few days ago. Oh my gosh, best rabbits ever!!!! Their personalities are quirky and outgoing and so inquisitive. I'm completely in love with them...

    Color and Fur type

Actually, if you absolutey CANNOT find a Tort or Tricolor Rex, the quickest way to get what you are looking for is to breed the Rex to the Rhinelander. Then do a brother/sister breeding. You'll get approx. 25% normal fur that do not carry rex, 50% normal fur that carry rex, and 25% rex fur...

    Your tattoos

Haha! I'm thinking of tattooing this GORGEOUS little upcoming junior of mine "CULL" just to get a laugh on the table. :P I've always gotten at least a chuckle out of the judge's who've read LADYSMAN, FISHSTICK, and BURGER. :D I think that's why I've stuck with tattooing names for as long as I...

    Your tattoos

I've been considering going back to a numbering system. I used to do father's initial, dam's initial, kit's number, dam's litter number, and M for Melani(my name). For example, my doe I have right now from when I first started is tattooed PD3AM. She was sired by Piano Man, out of Daisy, 3rd kit...

    Jersey Wooly Invasion

Demamma- LOL!! Woolies are addicting!! The saying is: "A Wooly will still your heart, but a baby Wooly will steal your soul!!" Once you get 'em, you won't be able to stop! :D I think I had a few north-ish shows on my fall show list! Now I just need to get those dang does producing! Bred 4 does...

    Jersey Wooly Invasion

:D I told you I'd join up again! Haha!! She's JUST like her mom, I swear!! She had the same desire to be a parrot! Hopefully little Prodige can tone down the 'tude on her kits. Also wanted to say I got around to cooking up my little 10 week old false dwarf Wooly buck and he was DELISH! The...

Has anyone showed a doe after breeding her?

Yup, I usually keep showing a bred doe up until they're about 2 weeks along. But I did once transport a doe to a show to be picked up by the buyer and she was 29 days along that day. I just kept her in a covered dog crate and the buyer picked her up early and took her home. She had 6 with no...

    Line breeding: Do's and don'ts

I breed whoever goes together. Mother-son, Father-daughter, Grandsire-granddaughter, even have some with the same rabbit as their sire, grandsire, and great-grandsire. However, I have yet to do a brother-sister cross. I would if they fit, but so far all my litters have been pretty consistent...

    Jersey Wooly Invasion

Hello everybody!!!!! I confess, it's all my fault for being a tad too close to MSD!! Hahaha!! And she convinced to rejoin this forum! I have to say, it's WAY more popular than it was when I was a member like a year and a half ago! I'm in complete shock you got that little Black to sit still for...

    critique my jersey wooly!

She really looks to me like she's a BUD. If so, she'll go over the maximum weight limit. BUDs are often longer in body, longer in ear, and snipier in the face than a dwarf would be. I use BUDs for breeding though because they throw larger litters and no peanuts.

What color is she? *pics inside*

how many times do you breed?

I've only just gotten into raising rabbits, but I put the doe in the bucks cage and let him breed her 1-3 times. Occassionally, I'll do it again about 6-8 hours later. All my does have only ever been bred to 1 buck, except for one was also bred to a different buck once, but she delivered 2 DOA...

    Tattooing

Just remember that there are "illegal" tattoos. I'd have to check the ARBA rules, but I'm pretty sure there are specific rules for tattoos in order to be shown at an ARBA show...
