Breed 3 times - someones a dud? Am I doing this wrong?

:-) I'm not sure what breed they are. The girl is all white with a grey blush on her ears and tail. The boy is brown with white on his chest. We started with 20 chicks and now have 10 hens and 1 rooster. 2 hens are the black spotted ones and the rest are all the pretty mohogany red collored...

Breed 3 times - someones a dud? Am I doing this wrong?

We want to use them as safe food for the family. (Trying to avoid heath issues and gain back health with 'clean' natural food). And to be prepared to be able to sustain ourselves (heaven forbid) this economy get any worse. We have fruit trees, garden, chickens for eggs, deer for meat and...

Breed 3 times - someones a dud? Am I doing this wrong?

Back from work and so thrilled to see the wonderful replies - thank you all! Neither have had litters before, the male use to be kept with another male (previous owner). I know for sure he's a male because when it's hot outside he let's his 'male parts' hang out. I don't know what being...

Breed 3 times - someones a dud? Am I doing this wrong?

For 3 months in a row we have put the 2 rabbits together, watched to be sure "it happened" and waited for a month to see that there are still no babies. After each breeding the male rabbit dumps his food and water dishes or digs the food out of his dishes for a good week (what's up with this?)...

New to rabbits and breeding... will he starve himself?

Thank you guys :-) I got my new camera, and first thing I took pictures. I'd LOVE to have the rabbits on the ground running around in the grass, but thought they dig under the fence. How do you stop that? Can I build a fenced in yard for them to live in? I'm going to try to upload pics...

New to rabbits and breeding... will he starve himself?

Sure, I'll get a picture asap, good idea (I should be getting an updated phone in the next few days and it will be my first order of business :-) I'm going to go look around this site to see what a nesting box looks like.

New to rabbits and breeding... will he starve himself?

Thanks, I will do that :-) I was just looking at the pictures showing girls and boys too. But I read on a thread that the boy is suppose to pass out if they breed. I haven't seen him pass out yet. So maybe they didn't get the job done?

A nice bonus to raising rabbits!

You have a point there ... which is why we have chickens and now rabbits :-)

A nice bonus to raising rabbits!

Raccoon hu? Why there are hundreds of them always getting into things around here. How do you know if it is rabid or has distemper? (Distemper is going around here right now).

New to rabbits and breeding... will he starve himself?

Well, I saw the boy's "thing" this summer. He'd lay there and let it hang out. A breeder sold the other one saying it was a girl. And we did see them look as if they were breeding. It's as if she decided one day that breeding time was here and want's to keep going over there. But as soon as...

New to rabbits and breeding... will he starve himself?

Thank you so much - I ran and did just that. The rock in the water bowl seems to be working, but he won't leave a bit of food in his cage :-( What should I do for a nesting box? I've been thinking about this. With winter and all, I want to give her a snuggley warm place with lots of soft...

New to rabbits and breeding... will he starve himself?

I'll try to get all info and and be brief. Rabbits are kept in a large cage (size of back of full size pick up) and there is a separation between the 2. No problem seeing when she was not ready - wow. Then the other night she decided she was ready and jumped over to his side when I was feeding...
