I try to breed does at the same time so I can foster if necessary. In this scenario, where that is not an option, I would kill the kit and rebreed the doe ASAP.
Line breeding and inbreeding are very different things. Line breeding is done on purpose with a specific purpose, and occurs only at the direction of the breeder. Inbreeding occurs when there is little to no control on who breeds who, which can be the result of a careless breeder or naturally...
Agree with all. I raise only the composite animals from TAMUK. They are great!! One doe in particular (a magpie) had 3 her first litter, 5 her second litter, 8 live and two dead her third. Looks like she is going to be a good one. So a warning to the OP, don't judge based on a doe's first or...
Does anyone have any information on training (full litters at a time) rabbits to run. I have stumbled on a potential market for rabbits. Some falchoners are willing to pay a premium for rabbits that will deadbolt run when released from a cage. How could I train an entire litter at once to do this?
Next time, when you know you have receptive does that have just breed, put them in with one of the other bucks, it may just be the motivation they need.
My exact thoughts, thank you!

I use about a half a second worth of spray/ear, and it works great.
DiHydrogen Monoxide will get you every time!
Exactly why I think WD-40 is great. It is significantly easier to apply than any of the cooking oils and it does not get spread everywhere when they flap their ears. I don't know about your fur loss issue, but I have never seen that with WD-40.

-- Mon Sep 21, 2015 11:00 pm -- <br...
I know that treating ear mites with WD-40 is controversial. I did not know how controversial it is. I was recently permanently blocked from the 'backyard meat rabbits' facebook group for doing nothing more than suggesting its use, and saying that I thought it worked great.
For me personally...
I butchered some 11 week olds today. As well as what had been intended as a breeder doe, however her litter mates are on their second litter and outweighed her by a couple pounds. She had very little meat on her compared to 'normal' and her gall bladder was 5x the size of the 11 week olds. She...
I protected it for the first few weeks, but once it took off it could not be harvested too much. I think I'm going to try to keep it planted year round in south Texas
Once it establishes itself, 1.5 months or so, you cannot use enough of it to set it back. I planted about 12'X20' and have more than I can feed 10 adults and various sizes/amounts of growouts. They love the stuff!!
