    Howz about da natural route?

This quote function is neato! Just delete or backspace within the quote to shorten...cool. Thanks for the advise. I've thought about using somekind of mesh bag in the future for this reason. What do you think about using pillow cases...Would this prevent pests from laying their eggs among other...

Questions and comments about plant safety for rabbits.

I posted to epiphanize the fact that I was feeding large clover that may have been causing weight retaining problems with my rabbits in the spring. The USDA pic/link I checked turned out to be a completly different type of clover! Thank god...my chickens loved it too. What type of clover gets...

Questions and comments about plant safety for rabbits.

HOLY COW! Thanks for the heads up on the sweet clover. That might explain why my rabbits have lost a litter or two, due to mama's weaknes, and why a few does seem to have trouble gaining weight during the nursing period. For a few weeks, I was feeding my rabbits about three handfuls of the tall...

    Howz about da natural route?

I've done a good deal of research. Perhaps I should refine my question as you suggested. I'm aware that I need to transition my rabbits over a two week period from pelleted to natural (at least this long), provide a balanced trace mineral block, and the right balance between vitamins, minerals...

    Howz about da natural route?

I finally got a chance to get back on the rt thread again! Now, does anyone have good recommendation on the kind of hay/greens/grain combination(with a trace mineral block of course) that I could use if I start feeding my rabbits naturally?

    Automated everything...pretty much!

Well, problem I went all the way to the next town over bought a bunch of fittings for 3/4" cpvc. I got home, starting working on it, and found that I bought the wrong pieces for 1/2" instead! I might still change over to cpvc when I exchange the parts.

    Automated everything...pretty much!

I've been working on installing an automated watering system in my 12 by 14 rabbitry. The supply runs from the low pressure side of our city water via a series of water hoses; combined from several lines, which is a pain to ensure no leaks (12000 gallons one leaky month with a $104 water bill...

    Soapy dog lot!!! Help!!!

I spray the dog lot out 3-5 times a week; should do it more, I know, but I'm so busy and stressed with my call-center job. Do you think that giving them unlimited water is an issue? I wouldn't but is it?

    Soapy dog lot!!! Help!!!

When I spray my dog lot out the doglot there are some spots that seem to sud up; not like a few bubbles, but like when I put down a ton of dish washing liquid. The problem is I didn't use any soap! This has only happened a few times over the last 4 months. Is it something in the droppings or...

    Lowering cost with natural feeding

So much to do and consider... I have pondered the probability of growing natural food as an exclusive source of nutients for my rabbits for about a year now. It might be possible to coallate data from various sources to figure the total nutrient values for different stages of growth and...

    Feed Cost!

I raise my rabbits and a few chickens. I can't believe the cost of retail feed pellets at about 10 to 15 dollars a 50lb bag! I've been considering building a shed to house feed by the tonnage. Does anyone know any feed mills in ky, northeast tn, or western-virginia that will sell to non-retailers?

Love my bunnies;like everybody, looking to lower my feed cost

Howdy partners, Has anybody got a good idea on how long it takes to have dutch rabbits to get about 4-5 pounds without pellets and just natural forage that we harvest? I would of course try to research the nutrient values in different wild plants, if such information is available( who knows...

Dog food is so expensive... If I bred small show rabbits....

OH no! Bald rabbits breeding. Hmmm...never thought of that before! They did it with cats, but it would be hard to keep the young from dying in the first few weeks. Would it be easier to use electric hair clippers like at the barber shop or would they get clogged with the fine fur too easy? I...

Dog food is so expensive... If I bred small show rabbits....

Does anyone think that scalding the rabbit fur off like with chickens or lightly singing the fur off over a flame prior to freezing would take care of the fur ball problem for your cats?
