    Hey Wanna Help Me Study?

Are you doing ARBA showmanship or 4-H. 4-h could be unpredictable but I know quite a few people that might be able to help if you're doing ARBA qualifiers.

Looking for a DIY plans for a grooming table

I glued a carpet square to a wooden tv tray from walmart then screwed a plastic shoe box to one end to hold my brushes and misc supplies. It doesn't look as nice as most but light weight, low cost, and very functional. The table was about $15, $3 for the glue (I used gorilla glue epoxy but would...

My V-lop buck - and color question - and some rambling

http://www.hoppinherdofhares.com/lopcolorguide.html That is the site of someone that used to breed mini lops. The colors should be the same. She has pictures and genotypes with the colors.

    Sexing

The link Michaels4gardens posted is the best sexing post I've ever come across. There will always be questionable buns and I have a lot of trouble between 4 days (when they start getting furry) and 4 weeks (when they're more developed).

    What breed to get

I raise Mini Lops primarily for show but my culls dress out plenty big enough. I love Lilacs and have thought about Standard Chin, Thriatas, and Florida whites for small meat/ fur production rabbits. I have so say if you want to sell meat the best results will come from a NZ/cal cross and I've...

Can't help but think there's something wrong with this...

It should be pellets, hay, grain (Oats, Barley,..) then veggies and fruit. I'll semi agree with limiting alfalfa, that CAN be over done and there is already quite a bit in most pellets. However it says not to feed bread or "yogurt treats"... I know bread can be used to get a doe back on feed...

If you could go back and start over...

I probably wouldn't have got into rabbits, they're to addicting :) No, I probably would have saved more money and got good equipment and great rabbits to start with instead of trying to breed up. The poorer the rabbit the harder they are to sell. I have so great mini lop lines but they still...

ARBA FB page 'rant' about KY

:( I'm not happy to hear all this, I had wanted to go but couldn't afford it this time. I did learn at nationals in October to bring my own food and drink when I go to another big show as it was over priced there as well. Parking wasn't quite as expensive, I think 25 cents and hour and I was...

What To Do About Weights On Pedigrees?!

With my pedigrees I get the feeling most of them were never actually weighed anyway and were falsified before I bought them, and the breeder I bought the most from is shade blind so alot of colors are wrong too. If there was a "6" or 2 missing I might fill them in but wouldn't make a habit of it...

    Best pellets for the price.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! The ration I was feeding does well with the bigger lops but not so good for the smaller breeds :( I guess I'll have to see how my shopping turns out. I think it's going to be between Manna Pro Show, Pen Pals 16%, Heinold Show/ General, and Rowe 16/18 (I saw in...

    Best pellets for the price.

I was looking at Rowe to but havn't researched price or availability. I was thinking about giving heinhold a try but after transport and retailer mark up I'm not sure I want to hear the price. __________ Thu Apr 04, 2013 5:20 pm __________ I just checked Rowes distribution map and the closest...

    Best pellets for the price.

I've fed purina show/ complete depending on what was available and didn't have good results the switched to a local milled feed that produced the BOB french lop at nationals but it has a bunch of corn and now I've got bloat going around. I'm feeding mainly mini lops with a few himmies. I can get...

Lost most of a prize litter

I have to say I'm thankful for snake keepers. I've lost 17 kits this winter for various reasons and only raised 2... I quit charging the snake guy because he's going through a rough time financially and I'm just glad to see them have a purpose. The one litter I was able to keep alive was out of...

But you could get those at the grocery store! *face palm*

Wow, some people....! I couldn't tell much difference between duck eggs and other fresh eggs, I found goose eggs a little tough but I'm sure they would make a great omelet egg though. I'm kind of fond of quail eggs and banty eggs myself, farm fresh of corse.
