I have a question about the search function. Well I guess it's more of a comment.

A lot of times when I do a search I get a message that words were ignored because they are too common or too short. Here are a couple examples.

I do a search for "cage design" and the page comes back and says that the word "cage" is too common and is ignored, so I get a list of threads that contain the word design. These threads could be about anything with the word design and have nothing to do with cages. So while cage is a common word on this forum it seems odd to completely ignore the word especially when I'm adding other key words to it.

I just did another search and this one really stumped me. I search for "how much feed" because i wanted to know how much I should feed my rabbits. The page came back and told me that all of those search terms were too common and didn't bring back any threads at all.

I've tried a few different searches using quotes, as well as "and" and this didn't seem to make any difference. I essentially have to go to each forum and read each thread hoping to find what I'm looking for, which is not very effective. Am I doing something wrong or is there a better way?

Thanks

I've tweaked the search settings to increase the threshold of common words. "+cage +design" (without the quotes) returns relevant results now. The phrase "how much feed" is still too common. I'll look into this further, but I'm a bit leery of turning the feature off entirely, as being able to search very commonly used words can increase the load on the server.
