I'm thinking about making a few travel cages to have on hand. I don't use them that often, but I have some scrap cage wire I could use. What should the dimensions be for a full-grown Californian? Any recommendations on the best way to make the door/opening?

I've been using a double cage that Aileen has...opens on the top..each side has a lid, that's hinged in the center. I REALLY like that cage.

I've also used the small travel kennel cat container..opens in the front...not as happy with that. They can sit in the back and make life difficult for removing.

Don't know about the size of a Californian, tho. sorry.

I have several travel cages, but the best one is a three compartment cage with a pan. It is 24"x16". Each compartment is 8"x16" and it suits my Californians just fine. The tops hinges at the back and there is a small lip that overhangs in the front. The cage is 10" high.
