Have a rex doe, that is about 1 yr old, about 3 weeks along. We have noticed that she is missing some fur underneath her chin/ kinda on her neck. You can see the skin, the area is about the size of a 50 cent piece. Can't really see any where in the cage where she appears to be rubbing it off. Any suggestions as to whats going on??

When you say three weeks along, do you mean she's bred? If that's the case, then she's probably pulling fur to line a nest - she's just doing it a bit early. :D

Yes she is 3 weeks bred. Well she dosn't have a nest box yet, & we haven't seen her pull any fur off. If she were we can't tell that she is putting it anywhere to make a nest or what not.

Rabbits rub their chins on things to mark territory. If they do this excessively, I'm sure it would wear the fur off. If it is just pink, clean skin, I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep an eye on it.

Does she have a neighbour? Sometimes rabbits will pluck the fur off their neighbours if they're lying pressed up against the wire.
