Moved my rabbits out of the dining room and into the basement today, after moving everything out of the basement. Took awhile, but they are settling in nicely now. The smell was a bit overwhelming so it was time.

And now my dining room will become my sewing room. Who knows? I might even find time to sew!

I'm sure you've got this covered, Aileen, but it bears mentioning because a lot of people house their rabbits in buildings: sheds, garages, basements. Good ventilation is vital. If you can smell ammonia, it is time to open the windows, vents, turn on the exhaust fans or whatever and air things out as well as clean them out. It is the rabbit urine that is the main offender, not the poop. Ammonia fumes can cause respiratory ailments in rabbits.
