Welcome, Nathan, and congratulations on the Christmas popples!
We may eventually try raising catfish in barrels. I wish I liked tilapia... it's so much cheaper than anything else. None of us likes tilapia. Oh, well.

Re: hello hello!
Hi Nathan! Welcome to RT. Did you happen to see if the stork was wearing a Santa hat?
I didn't see much fur in the nest, so that may account for your losses. The kits may have gotten chilled. You can pull more fur from the doe's belly, or add dryer lint to the nest- you can also save fur from other does to add to nests if they need it.
Congratulations on your litter! I hope the remaining kits do well.

I had a Tilapia in my cichlid tank- he was named Mick Jagger because of his huge lips!

Hello and welcome Nathan!
Hey - I wonder, could we add Tilapia to our pond or would they take over? We have Bass and Blue Gill. Would they survive an Indiana winter?

Re: hello hello!
Welcome! I'm new here too, haven't had any litters yet though, so you're ahead of me.
@Tarilynn - Tilapia are very sensitive to temperature changes, they are a warm water breed, so they would have to be overwintered in a controlled environment (like in the house, or a greenhouse) to survive.
