I recently purchased this cute, 4-month-old buck. (Sorry! He is still learning to pose and likes to twist around... He's not perfectly straight in the pictures.)

I am hoping to purchase another doe in Jan-Feb, and I'd like to balance out her faults/strengths with his...
I would love to hear any constructive comments on "Finn," and suggestions for strengths to look for in the doe. :) :bunnyhop:

You'll want to find a doe with width and shorter ears. He's a very nice boy and has a bit of filling in to do yet from what I can tell. Pics are a bit fuzzy.

This is really not a good age to evaluate holland lops. They go through an ugly stage at this age. How they develop varies a ton between lines in Hollands, so you'd be better off asking the rabbits' breeder or somebody who is familiar with their lines as to how you think he will mature. Right now he looks like his ears are long and needs more width (more width overall, but especially in his chest). And his head needs to fill out quite a bit. Promising bone. Good head mount.

Yes, I recognize that he still has a lot of maturing to do; and that Hollands, in general, do at this age.
I had a doe whose ears didn't lop until she was several months old -- and then matured into a lovely crown. :D

But I was curious to hear other opinions on his current appearance.
I am glad to hear that others are seeing the same weaknesses and strengths that I'm seeing. :)
I look forward to watching him mature, and seeing how he turns out as a senior.

I'd love to hear some comments and thoughts now that this buck is 8 months old. His current weight is 4 pounds 2 ounces. There are some updated pictures added to the link. The first two on the wood were taken at 4 months.

Ears abit long but wide, nice big head and bone, needs width, he might grow into the ears but it's hard to tell at this age

I think you're probably seeing the original post/pictures... If you look at my most recent comment, he is now eight months old, and I've added current photos.

He has grown into his ears quite nicely and has decent bone, but I would like to see shorter bone/limbs and a much wider chest.

Ah I just checked out the new photos! He's real handsome! I agree with his chest width. He really filled out nicely on the bone as well
