I have the opportunity to get a bunch of cages for free. The catch is that the herd that was housed in them had vent disease and a few other unknowns roll through from time to time.
They have been washed with bleach when emptied and most were left to dry in the sun, but its not something I want to chance infecting my herd with.
Should I scrub with bleach, then ammonia, and leave out in the sun again? Or is there some other way to clean them.

10% bleach solution was good enough to use in diagnostic micro lab, where we grew known pathogens (at least, the instructors knew). It convinced me to trust it (I mix the dilutions myself).
