i have had 2 does [ 5 months old ] for 2 weeks they have been on timothy with of course pellets and hay - can i switch to alfalfa or should i stay with what i`ve been doin - i was told they are NEW ZEALANDS

It depends... alfalfa in pellets, and in hay will lead to more hay waste as the rabbits sort through the alfalfa hay to find the long stem fiber , [ long stem fiber is low in pelleted feeds] - I personally prefer to feed a grass hay with alfalfa based pellets .

I feed timothy hay and alfalfa pellets to my New Zealand and my other breeds.

Do you mean pure alfalfa pellets or alfalfa-based pellets with other ingredients added to make them a complete diet?

Timothy hay is good as a supplement to pellets--the rabbits get their long-stem fibre and also the satisfaction of nibbling without getting fat.
