That's funny, I've got one that was mildly irritable before kits, but now that she's in mama-mode she's ready to take on a bear...

I have to use oven mitts to check on her and the kits. They are 4 weeks old and she's just finally starting to let me look at them without going all momma bear.

Nah man, water is how rabbits thermoregulate. Be careful feeding them from the hose though, I hear bacteria can grow in there when the hose is turned off.
