Kindled this morning I'm keeping an open mind about what colors I'll be getting. My Holland lop doe has 7 kits. I'm hoping my other two does will kindle tonight or in the morning so I can transplant some.

I know I've got two charlies, and I think two heavy harlequin marked tris, but I'm not sure they wiggle around so much.

Mom is vm blue tort and dad is tricolor black/orange. I'm expecting tri babies and tort and maybe torted tri and ? Anything else? All are broken.

edit- They are so cute. This morning when I checked on them they were sprawled all over the nest box. Too warm, they say!

Congratulations on new popples :)

There are LOTS of possibilties depending on recessives the parents carry but all will be harlequin or non-extension/tort based ;)

I'll post pics in about a week I promise ;)

So I think I've got four broken tort but I don't have a clue how to tell blue or not. The two that I thought were charlies just had the faintest brown coloring but now that is coming in they are torts. The two harlequin banded kits I think are VM and not broken time will tell. And then one nicely colored tricolor.

__________ Sat Nov 18, 2017 9:16 pm __________

While I'm at it, 7 is a huge litter for a Holland, any tips on keeping her conditioned while she feeds all these little stinkers? I've been giving her some oxbow critical care, she likes it. None of my other does have kindled yet.

A supplement of black oil sunflower seeds works well to keep my does in good condition. I'm sure others will give other advise too

I can't get enough of these kids! None are vm, although I have a 25%? chance of them carrying vienna? I didn't think I'd get solids colors but since mom is VM not broken even though she has a ton of white on her, she's technically nonbroken.

__________ Fri Dec 01, 2017 10:24 pm __________

IMG_20171130_143944398~01.jpg

Is this two different colors or are they just ... different looking?

If mom is a Vienna carrier then statistically 50% of the kits should get the mutation

The two harlequins are the same colour, just with different patterning

You know I will! Right now I have mostly short videos, they move around too much for pictures most of the time.

I do think the broken tort with the most white, since it also has no color on its nose, could be VM and its just blended in the broken pattern.

They are adorable! To line up bunnies in a straight line you need two people, one to continually line up the bunnies, and one to literally take 50-80 pictures. You *might* get a good one  That's how I do it :p

I love seeing the updates on this litter, ozemba! They are so colorful and different from one another, what fun! Love the Christmas pictures, I’m still trying to figure out how to keep four together long enough to do a similar shoot…

:gold-star:

I took about ten pictures of the lineup and that one was as close as I came to everyone, except that blue tort, staying mostly still.

I *can* do it by myself now, but I prefer to have two people. Not telling you all my secrets, but I have one more bunnies in a straight line tip. Put them how you want them and gently hold them there for a few seconds, if you do this it will take them a few extra seconds to realize they are not being held and run away. :bunnyhop:
