I have an adult doe who I have down as fawn vm. And as she's getting her winter coat in I guess she's got a gradient that almost makes her look like a tort I was just wondering if this is a normal thing or if she isn't fawn.

Her parents were black vm and bew. 2 granddams were bew, one bew grand sire, and one tricolor grand sire black/orange.

She looks blue tort to me

You can get faint shading in a fawn (smut) but I don't see any fawn characteristics here, just tort ones

She really does not look lilac tort to me. Torts vary a lot in amount of shading; but her areas that are shaded don't have a brown tinge like you'd see in a lilac tort; so I'd call her a blue tort.

Here's two lilac tort for comparison: the points have a lilacy tinge instead of blue.

Then here's a blue tort with about the same level of shading
(this one has high rufus; but just look at the points)

and another blue torts from rabbitcolors.info it does have rex fur and more shading but the shade of the shading looks closer to the blue of yours
