Favorite Toys
I'm looking to get Truffles some more toys. She is one of the few rabbits I have had that actually likes toys.
What are you and your rabbits' favorite toys?

Re: Favorite Toys
Carabiners strapped to the top of their cage in a chain, untreated pine cones, old food dishes, empty water bottles (like human plastic bottles, not rabbit ones), wiffle balls (they can throw those around). Have been my rabbits' favorite cheap toys

Re: Favorite Toys
Mine seem to really enjoy my DIY "forage tubes" as I call them. I take my toilet paper rolls, fold the edges down into two flaps that slightly over lap in the middle (it will leave two points sticking out because of the folding, you can fold them down too or just leave them as is) then I stuff the tube with hay and other treats like small pieces of dried fruit or veggies, and then fold the open side of the tube down the same way, then done!! It can be rolled, tossed, chewed, and there are goodies they can smell inside them. Keeps them busy for days, even after they've broken in and ate all the goodies. I'll try to get a picture of one for you when I can. They are really cheap ( going to have the rolls anyway. Why not put then to use?) and super simple to make

Re: Favorite Toys
My angoras love pushing soccer balls around the backyard. The lops seem to prefer toys they can throw around like wiffle balls and cat toys. They all seem to really enjoy frozen chew toys during the summer.

I once made a ball out of a toilet paper roll and Truffles went wild for it

Truffles likes toys that she can throw around too. I bought her a wooden rattle which she loved but she chewed through two of the bars and the ball came out. I need to find a plastic version because she doesn't like to chew plastic.

Re: Favorite Toys
@bunnychild,
I've bought some of MamaSheepdog's rabbit toys before and my bunnies love them!
Here's a picture of one of my juniors with some of her toys hanging on her cage.
(p.s. MamaSheepdog, have fun at the convention!

Re: Favorite Toys
Olaf's favorite toys are the ones he can eat and destruct. He's a crazy one that's for sure! He does like some plastic tossy toys but not as much as natural chews and such. here's a list of his favorite toys! Plus they're all super cheap or even almost free because I make most of them myself as where I live there's not rabbit toys
Olaf's favorites include:
- Pinecones ( free if found on the ground. Just wash and dry out to get rid of germs)
- Card board slabs or shapes
- Hay tubes ( super easy to make! You need a toilet paper tube, pet safe glue ( which is made of flour and water), and hay. Paint the tube with the pet safe glue and roll in the small pieces of hay. Then dry and give it to them! Such a great boredom breaker too!)
- Baby toys ( the chains or rings, and plastic keys are the most recommended!)
- Card board boxes
- Shredded paper
- Loofa chews
- Fruit tree sticks ( I use mulberry ones from my yard)
- Bird toys ( I just got him a little roller type toy
)
- Spirals ( toilet paper tubes cut into a spiral)
I have also linked some great DIY videos for toys! BTW one of them is mine

I have a problem with making them XD
Have a great day!

Re: Favorite Toys
We use a lot of those large size cat toy balls with the bell inside that you can get two in a pack from the dollar store. Most of them love tossing them about.

They look awesome and very affordable. It can be really hard to find rabbit safe toys! (Have fun at convention!)

Are there certain varieties of pinecones that are rabbit safe or all they all okay?
Truffles has no interest in cardboard slabs lol
We have loads of mulberries trees on our land so that is a great idea!
Thank you for all the videos I will check them out

We have a million of those for our cats and I keep one in Truffles cage. She doesn't like to chew plastic so I do not need to worry about the bell falling out and becoming a choking hazard. She likes it when I toss it around and she can chase it.
