How long to keep a breeding buck

One average, when bringing in new bloodlines, how long is a buck kept for breeding before moving on to a new home?
I ask out of curiosity.
What is the prime breeding age range for a breeding buck?
 
Use him until he produces something better or you have no need for him.

I had a buck breeding great rabbits until he was 11... he lived to 13.
 
Similar to ladysown...I keep until he produced better than himself (a son) OR it is obvious he will always produce sub-par offspring with what I have. I either decide that point to bring in an outside doe to mix that is of compatible lines that has some thing to improve my own OR send him on his way. I've *only* ran into this twice with the HLs, never with MR or any of the other breeds. In the case of 2 different bucks, had a few common ancestors...always thru long gangly bucks (does looked great and I kept a few) but it does me no good if I want a replacement buck so moved them on.
