So the first time Lavender was pregnant she ended up with one kit that was huge and stuck and we had to help - it obviously did not survive.

We bred her again right away, and today at 29 days she waited until we were not home and had 5 kits. Two were cold when we checked (wish we were home when she had them - maybe we could have saved them) she had 1 peanut who was not alive, and two little healthy kits who are happy squirmy and warm.

She did a fantastic job at building her nest, pulled TONS of fur and they seem to be keeping warm. I do have a heating pad on low with a towel in between the nesting box just to keep it warm enough in there for the two of them. I am not sure how long we should do that. I have not seen her go into them yet - I understand they only go in once a day. Being that we were not successful the first litter I am super watchful on this one! I am hoping she knows what she is doing and will feed and care well for them! :D

Hooray! Sounds like she's doing great so far.
I would heat them till they open their eyes. They might be fine with the two of them but that will keep them safe.
Good luck! Could we see pics?

So the darker bun is SO squirmy - he literally tries to jump right out your hands, and the lighter one is fairly calm and relaxed. We will post more pictures as the days go by!15181680_626838324155419_5314194662954460178_n.jpg

She is in there checking on them several times a day, feeding them well from what I can tell, and generally sticking around the nest box. I let both her and Cadubury out to free-range during the day normally and even when I open the hutch door, she lingers for a long while. They are kept separate now, as neither of them are fixed. They both seem sad to be apart :(

I cannot get over how quickly these little ones grow!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is always amazing how fast they grow.
Our kits are now all of 24 hours old and you can see how much they've already grown.
I know what you mean. You can almost see them grow when you have a good mamma taking care of them.

Day 13 - I think bunnies are cute but I cannot get over the cuteness of these little ones!!! Hmm photos will not attach...working on it
