Hello From Florida
Been stalking this forum for the past few weeks so thought I'd better go ahead and introduce myself!
My name is Olivia and I live on the Florida coast just beneath Georgia. I'm just getting started with rabbits and bought my first herd (21 Rex rabbits) from another member of RT and I plan on raising them for meat and fur.
I've never had rabbits before, but I've been wanting to raise my own meat (for my dogs) for several years, and living in a residential area rabbits are about my only option!
I've had the rabbits for a couple weeks now and fully intended to introduce myself when I first joined RT, but life has been pretty crazy lately due to hurricane Matthew - and yes, the rabbits DID evacuate with us!
Being such a newbie, I have tons of questions and just reading through this site has already been sooooo helpful! Huge thank you to everyone here!

Re: Hello From Florida
Thanks guys...glad to be here!
Yes, 21 is waaay more than I planned on starting with MaggieJ, but a lot of them are juniors so I'll be downsizing a bit soon.
Still working on finishing up the setup - right now they're just in hanging cages inside a pallet barn so that they'll get good ventilation but I think we'll probably be wrapping the whole thing in hardware cloth this week to keep out the rats (my moms worst fear!). I'll try and post some pics of the rabbits and the almost finished barn soon!
