I just planted 26 spineless prickly pear pads today. Seems my landlady has a nice big one that she hates. I will be removing it for her, pad by pad, and planting a huge patch of it.

It even seems to have almost no fuzz spines so the buns should love it!

Spineless prickly pear?? Cool! My dad makes prickly pear jelly and syrup - YUM! But they a a pain (ha ha  ) to deal with... I know he would rather enjoy spineless ones!

How does that work for rabbits? What do you feed them and how?

I have only read about it but the little fuzzy spines - their name escapes me - pass right through. The cactus pads are fed and are good quality feed and provide lots of liquid as well as vits and mins too.

As we are on powder sand its hard to find things that will grow and be good feed at teh same time.

I think cactus will do well, esp as the property has rather alot of wild SPINY prickly pear on it already.
