My ad for intact pumpkins this year has led to 1 free 40lb one so far. A pumpkin patch nearby offered their remaining intact ones for $.50. I did this before with the colony rabbits. We just pitched the pumpkins at the concrete and threw the chunks in the pens. I only have guinea pigs for this year.

Setsu is an average size guinea pig for comparison.

Then we bucketed pumpkin up to the cages.

1/3rd of it is going straight to compost. Those pine pellets just aren't breaking down and I'm behind on cage cleaning so it will only get worse. It takes too much poop to the point it's unsanitary for the critters to get that sawdust to fully breakdown so we are hitting up the pumpkin patch probably this weekend. I'll take whatever I can get.
