We have a fist time Doe that has been pulling fur since first thing this morning. She missed her first time so we are trying to keep an eye on her. We just went back out and she was taking the straw out of the drop down nest box and putting it in the corner of the cage opposite of where she goes potty. We took out the drop down box and put a wooden nest box in the corner she was trying to build her nest in. I hope we did the right thing, I don't want to confuse her but I was thinking that was what she might want.
Any thoughts I definitely haven't had alot of experience in that area. :?

That is what I would have done. once she has the kits, you can move the box where ever you like (say, closer to the door, or facing so you can see in).

Yes, I think that was a smart move. Too bad she didn't like the drop box, but I think it is important to prevent them from kindling on the wire if at all possible. Any nest box gives more protection.
