Where can I find these cage latches at a reasonable price ($1 each or less shipped)?

I need about 10 of these and don't want to pay an arm and leg.

Thank you.

Maybe you can find some on Amazon .... they often have free or very cheap shipping.

I have these holding my cage doors closed: (Carabiner)

And these:

Bought these to hang my grow out cage. The clips aren't very strong so I used other hardware to hang them but used the wire, 24' of cable with clips for just a touch over $4
Used the clips on the cage doors. The added hardware cost me $8 but the cage isn't going anywhere. LOL

Just a quick and cheap fix. As for the clips your wanting, I've never seen them in a store in my area. The only place I've seen them were KW cages, Bass Equipment, and klubertanz.com. Even checked amamzon.

Hope this helps,
Cathy

Thank you. I'm currently using some dog leash clips now. They are a real pain to unclip and then clip. I have other cages with the latch like I'm looking for. They work so much easier.

Thank you.

Bass: 8 qty shipped $18.55 ($10.95 shipping!!!) :( :(

KW - $25.69 shipped. :( :( :(

These places are on CRACK to charge this much for 8 of these.

I would go to a local show and buy them direct.

You could always make them yourself .... probably cost next to nothing that way.

It's just two pieces of galvanized with a rivet for a pivot point.

Just make the geometry very simple .... and you could do the bends with vice grips or some similar.

I'd try it, but "galvanized" what?

If you have a local private feed or hardware store you can always see if they carry it or can order it from their suppliers.

I prefer this style (http://www.bunnyrabbit.com/equipmentpix ... ondoor.jpg) and my local family run feed store gets them in a big box and sells them about $1 ea. They also will order just about anything that is order-able. I do know with KW cages if you get on their mailing list every now and then they'll contact you if they're doing a local show and will let you order stuff online and pick it up at the show at no shipping cost to you. I saved hundreds on shipping with my hanging cages that way.

I bought these. I like them. They are a bit of a pain to attach to the doors but I can open them one handed and the keep the door shut securely. They are a spring latch. 10 for $11.99 + $4.99 shipping.

sheet metal.

Something like this - http://www.lowes.com/pd_125854-205-7098 ... zed+sheet+

$1.10 at Lowes. You could make a dozen or more from.

GREAT IDEA!!!! I found some flashing that I used to make pee guards for my cages. I went to Harbor Freight and purchased a rivet tool for $3.99 with 100 rivets............... and made this. It works great. Now I just need to make 7 more! Thanks for the idea!

I'm glad you found a cheap fix for your cages. Those type of latches would not work for me :x too many kids and raccoons.
