No they didnt.
Probably a cali/NZ then. I see crosses like that for sale around here all the time. Genetically, it's an agouti based himi, instead of a cali's black based himi.

It sort of looks like in the pic it has rex fur, is it normal or is it plush feeling? I've seen a few Rex crosses that had poor ear carriage, had lop in the background some where too...
