I have a lot of it (dayflower) growing in my patches of clover but I can't find anything stating how edible or safe it is. If it is safe it sure would make collecting fodder so much easier.

Hi Wheels! Never heard of a dayflower, do you mean Daylily? If you did then yes and they are delicious fried so I've heard. The other 2 I don't know. 
If you mean Commelina communis then...

I LOVE this forum area! I just found some of this dayflower, which I identified from pictures online as Commelina communis. It's very nice to have a place to go and see if the things I find are edible. This forum is always my first stop after I identify a weed. I have a nice patch of this growing and flowering atm.
