Showed yesterday. Only took 2 rabbits because my show string is currently kind of lacking.
Took a sr lionhead doe, and a jr lionhead buck.
The sr doe took a 3rd, which I was happy enough with. I only took her because I didn't want to be showing just one rabbit.
the jr buck though... I took him for comments, and was absolutely sure he'd be last or DQ'ed. He's young, like, really young. Just turned 12 weeks on thursday young. Only starting to develop his saddle and break young. Two months younger than most of his competition young.
He got 4th, out of 12. I am ecstatic about him getting 4th. He got some great comments from the judge(including an offer to take him home, lol!), and great comments from other exhibitors(including lots of offers to buy him).
They even had 4th place ribbons, so I got a couple of pretty ribbons(the first I've won showing rabbits, the only other show I attended didn't have ribbons).
Walker did fantastic at the show in general as well(except for a bunch of nipping while I was grooming him/working with him). All the prep of taking them to market seemed to have helped greatly, as he mostly slept in his carrier, while many of the rabbits at the show had issues with the noise and people. Walker spent his time stretched out on his side, looking dead(I got a few comments asking if he was dead, and a few extra fun moments of him not responding when I poked him, he was so fast asleep!)
Pictures later, I figured that last night the little bugger deserved his dinner and some time alone to collect himself.
