Forgive my first attempt at youtube. I tortured the little wheekers by removing the house for 2 mins to take a video. 1 sow still looks like she swallowed a lemon. You can see they are quite mobile and have cute squeakies. Although the adults were doing some loud crunching on the pellets for my poor camera mic.

Oh dear..... that video is absolutely horrible. I don't think I can forgive you unless you post another one ASAP.

A short wheeker vid. I have another one closer up but youtube will not process it. I've tried for the past 4hrs. :?

Broken red now looks like she swallowed 2 lemons. I'm not sure what she's waiting for but it looks like a bigger litter than the first 2. Kuro shows no sign of pregnancy and still will not put on full weight. I'm not sure what's going on with her. I put her in with Mazeru who is missing his bottom teeth so she would get a portion of his supplements. Everyone else is healthy, shiny, and chubby.

__________ Thu Mar 12, 2015 11:39 pm __________

Finally published. The squeal is not the one I picked up. It's one being stepped on.

These things are too cute. I keep remembering the GP pet we had when I was small. I would bring her out on the lawn and watch which plants she ate. That was how I learned about greater plantain :)

Smart!! :)

The blob finally popped. It is an interesting group. All the pups from that trio of females have been interesting. There's a golden agouti which should be simple but I think it has the effects of a very minor dilution gene. Not quite enough to dilute it to a lemon agouti look. The other 2 are definite dilutes but somehow the harlequin diluted the tan to cream and not the black. I didn't know that could happen. The 3rd is a lilac and white which is dilute black not dilute chocolate in guinea pigs. Never seen it before. I tried to get a pic of it's speckled white nose that is also odd looking but it mostly washed out.

Yea I thought she was going to have 4 and instead it's 3 big pups. Poor sow is rather tired today.

Josh usually hates the crests but he likes the lilac because it looks like it has eyebrows. I noticed something interesting with it's nose I was trying to get a pic of. There is an absolutely perfect line down the middle that divides white and lilac. I'm not sure what that means. I don't think the tan of harlequins can be diluted enough to appear white. Maybe it is just a harlequin carrier doing odd things. Guinea pig genes tend not to be fully recessive or dominant but mix in strange ways.

EEE!!! Soooo cute! The little ut uts sounds they make are cute. That's neat that they will sandwich the babies as they go along in the yard. :)
