Have an older CA doe due in 1 week. She had an undeveloped kit laying on the wire this morning. Just wondering what would cause her to do this. She hasn't had anything new or stressfull in her environment.

I just found an aborted kit, too. 2 weeks early for Bertha, nice development, but small. I'm not too worried yet, I'll fret if she drops more. She tends to have lots of kits (10 in her first, 9 in her second- but they were kindled outside in the shed and froze) and she is kinda big for 2 weeks along, I suspect it may be there are just too many in there. She is a 13 (or more) pound FG mix, bred to an eager 4-5 pound buck; they may be small, but they are jam-packed in there.

The CA Doe aborted another kit. Gave her a next box but she has no interest in builing a nest.
